Mozilla Developer Center (MDC), started in 2005, is the official Mozilla Foundation website for development documentation and news about Firefox, Thunderbird, and other Mozilla Foundation projects. To accomplish this, the website uses the MediaWiki software to maintain the user editable documents rather than CVS commits, as used for mozilla.org and determined to be too unwieldy shortly after MDC's inception.
Mozilla Firefox is a web browser, gopher client and FTP client project descended from the Mozilla Application Suite, managed by the Mozilla Corporation. Firefox uses the open-source Gecko layout engine, which implements some current Web standards plus a few features which are intended to anticipate likely additions to the standards.
The Mozilla Application Suite (originally known as Mozilla, marketed as the Mozilla Suite, and code named Seamonkey) is a cross-platform integrated Internet suite. Its development was initiated by Netscape Communications Corporation, before their acquisition by AOL. It is based on the source code of Netscape Communicator. Also included are tools to synchonise the application with Palm Pilot devices.
Mozilla Composer is the free, open source, HTML editor and web authoring module of the Mozilla Application Suite (the predecessor to SeaMonkey). It is used to create and to edit web pages, e-mail, and text documents easily. It is compatible with Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.
